SHOW
For a colorful display
from your Christmas cactus
(Schlumbergera)
keep it in
bright but indirect light for
most of the year. In fall, slightly
cut back on watering—allow
the top two inches of soil to
become dry—and move it to a
cool room (about 6s°F) away
from a window. When buds
appear in four to six weeks,
move the plant into bright, but
indirect sunlight and water
when the soil begins to feel dry
on top. Then step back and
enjoy the show.
For buying information,
see page 286.
